JESUS WANTS TO GO HOME WITH YOU:
Luke 19:1-10
INTRODUCTION:
It so often seems that all the good things are happening to or for
some one else. We seem to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, so
we just try to stand on the side line and watch what is happening;
often with these thoughts, oh well that will never happen for me. But
my message for you tonight is that Jesus is here tonight for you and
He wants to go home with you.
FOLLOW THE STORY OF ZACCHAEUS:
V.1 Jesus is here for you. Who are you, what is your name, why are you
here?
V.2 May be you are like Zacchaeus, I am just here to see, I am not
really expecting anything good to happen to or for me. You may not
realize it but this could be your very day.
V.3, 4 It really does not matter about me. I have been just lost in
the crowd. In fact because of who I am, and what I do, no one cares
about me or want to be around me.
V.5. Jesus know you personally, your situation, what you do, how you
feel and He is coming to you where you are.
Isa. 1:18-20 “Come now, and let us reason together.” Says the Lord,
“Though your sins are as scarlet, They shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” If you are
willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land, But if you
refuse and rebel, you shall b devoured by the sword. For the mouth of
the Lord has spoken.
Matt. 11:28-30 “Come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and
I will give you rest.” Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I
am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
V.6 Make sure you respond to the call of your name. The day you here
His voice, come. You will experience great joy.
JN. 10:9, 10 I am the door, if anyone enters by Me, he will be saved,
and will go in and out and find pasture.
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
I am come that they may have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly.”
V.7 Some of the people who know you and what you do are not going to
like it when you respond to the call of Jesus.
V. 8, 9 Yes, you may have been doing the best you know how but Jesus
has something better for you. It is more than church and being
religious; serving on the Usher Board, Deacons Board, Missionaries or
even in the Pulpit. Remember this, no matter who you are or what you
are doing, you really belong to God. You do not belong to the devil.
God created you and Jesus died and rose again for your forgiveness.
V.10 Forget about every one else, this is your night. Jesus wants to
go home with you.
